Born in Texas, USA Jessica Simpson is older sister to singer Ashlee Simpson. Both are managed by their father Joe Truett Simpson. In 1999, Jessica released her first single ‘I Wanna Love You Forever’ which got to No.3 in the US charts.

To promote her new album ‘Sweet Kisses’, Jessica toured with US boyband ‘98 degrees’ where she met and started dating Nick Lachey.

‘Sweet Kisses’ went double platinum and Jessica released second ablum ‘Irresistable’which has sold over 825,000 copies.

Jessica announced that she had remained a virgin until her wedding night to Nick in October 2002 and 1 year later, Jessica a new hubby Nick were starring in their own reality TV series for MTV, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. Her 3rd ablum ‘In This Skin’ release coincided with the show.

The show was an immediate success and Jessica won three Teen Choice Awards Female Fashion Icon, Choice Hottie Female, and Female Reality TV Star for Newlyweds. The album ‘In This Skin’ debuted in the US charts at No.10. The show ran until 2005.

Jessica was cast in her first starring role as ‘Daisy Duke’ in the remake ‘Dukes Of Hazard’,playing alongside Johnny Knoxville, Sean William Scott and Burt Reynolds. The movie grossed over $110 million worldwide. Jessica did the vocals for the movie also, ‘These Boots Are Made For Walkin’ which won a People’s Award for Favourite Song In A Movie.

In the movie, Daisy’s costume was slightly altered for the film to make her more sexy, her Daisy Dukes were shorter than they were on the series, and her shirts showed much more cleavage than the original ever did. Another difference in her appearance was that Jessica’s hair stayed blonde, whereas in the series, Daisy is a brunette.

Nick and Jessica decided to end their marriage in November 2005 and they divorced 7 months later. Since then she has been linked to actor Dane Cook, Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine and more recently John Mayer.
