Britney Spears born in McComb Mississippi, with her brother Bryan and sister Jamie-Lynn
was a state level gymnast at the age of nine.

Britney applied the previous year for the Disney Channel’s The New Mickey Mouse Club but she was considered too young to join the series at the time. A few years later however, Britney was accepted as a “Mouseketeer” with fellow talented teens singing and dancing.

When the show ended, Britney went back home to Kentwood, Louisiana and entered high school at 14 where she had her last bit of normalcy.

Britney briefly joined the all-female pop group “Innosense” but later decided to go solo and recorded a demo tape, which landed in the hands of Jive Records.

She was signed to the Jive Records label and began touring American venues for a series of concerts sponsored by teen magazines, before joining NSYNC and becoming their opening act.

Christmas 1998, Britney launched into worldwide fame when debut single “Baby One More Time” hit the airwaves.

With a music video that featured the Britney in a perfectly fitted school uniform, the song became an international success, earning double platinum sales. The debut album of the same title was released in January 1999, “Baby One More Time” reached number one in the Billboard 200

Rolling Stone magazine later featured Britney on the April 1999 cover, along with a photo shoot triggered much speculation that the still-seventeen-year-old had had breast implants. Britney strongly denied these rumours.

And following the success of her debut, Britney released “Oops!… I Did It Again”,it sold 1,319,193 units during its first week, and broke the record for biggest first-week sales of an album by any female artist.

Britney married childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander on January 3, 2004 in Las Vegas. The only marriage lasted fifty-five hours, ending with an annulment which was granted on January 5.

Months after the short lived Las Vegas marriage, Britney began a relationship with Kevin Federline and in July 2004, Britney announced her engagement to him three months later.

Kevin had very recently ended his relationship with actress Shar Jackson, who was at the time pregnant with his second child.
After months of weight-gain rumors, Britney announced that she was pregnant with a baby boy, to whom she gave birth in 2005 naming him Sean Preston Federline. Britney and Kevin would go on to have another child, a baby boy named Jayden, in 2006, but Britney filed for divorce on November 7, 2006.
