At the young age of 13, Adriana Lima was walking through a shopping mall when she was spotted, and finished in first place in the Ford Supermodel of Brazil search. Adriana later followed with a second place finish in the 1996 Ford Supermodel of the World contest.

Adriana had planned to become a nun before this offer of a modeling career.

Adriana then moved to New York City and signed with Elite Model Management whom gave her the opportunity to work for fashion editor giants such as Vogue and Marie Claire as well as runway work.

Adrianas big break came when she appeared on a Vassarette billboard in Times Square. This enabled Adriana to follow in other Supermodel footsteps such as Eva Herzigova, Laetitia Casta and Claudia Schiffer by becoming a GUESS? Girl in their 2000 Costanoa and face campaign.

Adriana is probably best known for her Victoria’s Secret campaigns and Angel status next to Heidi Klum, Gisele Bündchen, and Alessandra Ambrosio. Adriana first graced the VS runway in 2000, and was the show opener for the 2003 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
