ID Software made the announcement yesterday that the Oscar-winning screenwriter, Roger Avary has been hired to write and direct the classic game ID Software game ‘Return to Castle Wolfenstein’ with Silent Hill producer friend Samuel Hadida who gained the movie rights to the video game.
The screenwriter talking to Variety said:
“I’ve been playing the character of B.J. Blazkowicz since the epic Wolfenstein 3D first bruised my brain and have ever since wanted to bring his adventures to life on the big-screen. It’s time to bust some dams, storm some bunkers and blow up some bridges.”
Return to Castle Wolfenstein is set in WWII and is about U.S. Army Ranger B.J Blazkowicz who leads his team of troops to the castle to investigate the Nazi’s Paranormal Division.
A release date is not yet known so all you gamers out there that are looking forward to this movie will have to keep an eye out for it.
