Jackie Chan, Rush Hour 3

Jackie ChanJackie Chan’s latest film, Rush Hour 3 premiered at Mann’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California on the 30th July.

Rush Hour 3 will open in America on the 10th August and on the 16th August in Hong Kong. Rush Hour 3 sees Jackie Chan doing some incredible stunts which includes the star climbing around on the Eiffel Tower without so much as a safety net.

Talking to reporters in Los Angeles Jackie Chan said:

“I did all my stunts, even the scene full of fighting and acrobatics on top of the Eiffel Tower. In that sequence there are no explosions, shooting, just one of the best stunt teams in the world working at the height of its abilities.

The experience was something none of us would forget, least of all me, I can tell my grandchildren, ‘This is your grandfather. This is me. That’s not a double flying around the Eiffel Tower in 100 mile-per-hour winds’.”

Born in 1954 as Chan Kong Sang (meaning “born in Hong Kong”) Jackie Chan began his career in the film industry at the age of 17 and worked as a stuntman in the 1971 Bruce Lee films Fist of Fury and Enter the Dragon under the stage name Chen Yuen Long. Jackie Chan landed his first starring role later that year in a film called, in Little Tiger of Canton.

Jackie Chan moved back to Canberra a few years later, where he attended Dickson College and worked as a construction worker.  A fellow builder named Jack took Chan under his wing, earning Jackie the nickname of “Little Jack” which was later shortened to “Jackie.”

Rush Hour 3 sees Jackie Chan starring alongside Chris Tucker, Vinnie Jones, Hiroyuki Sanada, Noémie Lenoir, Max von Sydow, Yvan Attal, and Sun Ming Ming.
