So reports are flying everywhere at the minute about how Victoria Beckham and Katie Holmes didn’t leave a tip whilst out recently at the Mondrian Hotel’s Asia de Cuba restaurant.
The story goes how Posh and Katie enjoyed a meal at the restaurant and even paid the bill in full (Something which other celebs don’t bother with.) Katie paid for the meal in fuill as to be honest. It was her that would of eaten more than Posh.
But what angered the waitress the most was the fact that two of Hollywoods richest females didn’t leave her a tip! This infuriated the waitress who tried to confront Posh but was stopped by security.
Now my question is. If its a tip. Then why did the waitress expect it? Chasing after a celebrity DEMANDING a tip is less than professional even for a table cleaner. She should also think if she did anything to deserve a tip. It seems that in the US, a tip is an expected thing and if you don;t leave one you can expect bad service next time you visit.
In the UK, that situation is called ‘demanding money with menaces’ and you’ve gotta wonder. Is it acceptable?
If it was indeed Katie who paid the bill, then the waitress could have at least confronted her instead of a ‘guest’ at the table? If Posh was paying then it makes a small amount of sense why she’d go for her.
So is a tip now part of the service? or is it still at the discretion of the customer depending on what kind of service you received?
Sure it wouldn’t have killed the celebs to tip the girl. But she didn’t act very professional by chasing customers
