Thierry Henry’s expensive divorce

Thierry Henry,Nicole Merry & childFootballer Thierry Henry had better start saving up as his now ex-wife Nicole Merry could receive up to £10million, which is the biggest ever divorce payout by a footballer reports the Daily Mail.

Nicole met the footballer when she starred with Thierry in the “vavavoom” TV adverts for the Renault Clio. They were together for two years before they married in 2003 and have a two-year-old daughter together.

Thierry has the same London based law firm representing him which also worked for Heather Mills and the late Princess Diana when dealing with their divorces.

Some divorce experts reckon that the Judge will order a clean-break, meaning Nicole Merry would be entitled to a lump-sum rather than a percentage of his future earnings.

But Thierry may have to sell their six bed-roomed home in North London which he paid almost £6 million five years ago.

In a statement the footballer said he was “extremely saddened” by the breakdown of his marriage and that his move to Barcelona was “entirely for footballing reasons”.

Thierry will move from Arsenal to Barcelona, where he will earn approx £130,000 a week.
