Trial delay for Nicole Richie
Nicole Richie has managed to get her trial delayed. The Simple Life star is facing charges after she was arrested by police for driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, and for driving the wrong way in December.
Steven Lubell, the Superior Court Commissioner set a new trial date, 11 July for the skinny star after her lawyers appealed against starting on the 25th June.
A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, Jane Robison said: “She has two options: either she goes to trial or she changes her ‘not guilty’ plea.”
If Nicole is found guilty, she could face a minimum punishment of 90 days in jail under the Californian legal rules because she has a prior conviction for driving under the influence.
