The Libertines front men Pete Doherty and Carl Barat are busy working in the studio re-recording Beatles songs ‘A day in the life’ and ‘Sgt Peppers lonely hearts club band.’
This will be the first time Pete Doherty and Carl Barat have worked together since 2004.
You will be able to hear Pete’s and Carl’s version of the Beatles songs on Radio 2 at 8pm on the 16th June.
Wasted rocker Pete is also set to be performing the Mary Poppins song ‘Chim Chim Cheree’ at the South Bank Centre on Sunday 17th June for the Meltdown festival.
Meltdown takes place from June 16-23 and will showcase performances from the likes of Shane MacGowan, Beth Orton Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Motorhead, Devo, Cornershop, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Jarvis Cocker.
