Ozzy Osbourne gets a star in Birmingham
Ozzy Osbourne who is undoubtedly the most famous person to ever come out of Birmingham England. Is to be the first celebrity to gain a star on the newly founded ‘Birmingham walk of stars‘.
The walk is to be at Broad Street in Birmingham where Ozzy will be inducted on July 6th. The walk is the local areas answer to Hollywood Boulevard, and is run by Chief organizer Gary Taylor.
Ozzy is over the moon to be offered a star in his home town, saying it means alot more to him than his star on Hollywood Boulevard, which he got back in 2002.
Gary Taylor said:
“Ozzy is widely recognised as the most famous Birmingham person in the world today and we’re proud to be able to offer him the honour of being the first star on the Walk of Stars in Broad Street.
“It’s a great testament to what this area offers. We have some incredibly talented people from Birmingham, together with world-famous acts that regularly perform in this area, and we wanted to start honouring them in a way that shows how proud we are to have them here.”
Other stars wanted for the walk of stars are :
- Comedians Jasper Carrot,Lenny Henry and Frank Skinner.
- TV Presenter Cat Deeley
- Musicians Duran Duran,UB40,Jamelia,Robert Plant and SImon Rattle
- Actress Julie Walters
