Michelle Ryan is the new Bionic Woman
The 22 year old actress Michelle Ryan is set to become a household name in the US after landing the main role and a primetime slot for her new show ‘The Bionic Woman’.
Michelle will play Jamie Sommers, a tennis pro who suffers a near-fatal skydiving accident before her body is transformed with £25million worth of bionic wizardry in the re-make of the 70s classic.
The ex-Eastender impressed TV bosses in a pilot episode and it’s being made into a series to be broadcast on Wednesday nights in the 9pm slot.
NBC producers say the pilot show for US network will be a “re-imagination” of the original, a spin-off from cult hit The Six Million Dollar Man, which ran from 1976 to 1978 and starred Lindsay Wagner.
Michelle is currently unknown in the US, except maybe to EastEnders fans, the London-born actress has been quietly working to establish a career for herself in Hollywood. She has also appeared in the feature film “I Want Candy” next to Carmen Electra and upcoming horror movie “Flick” with actress Faye Dunaway.
