It seems that Paris Hilton won’t be spending all that much time in jail. Instead of her sentenced 45 days, Its reported that she may serve as little as 21 days due to prison overcrowding.
Monsters & Critics have more information about it all. But basically its down to some state directive thats trying to work on overcrowding and releasing inmates.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said:
“It’s possible that it could be 21 days to 23 days. It’s a complicated formula that the state sets down. It’s possible t she could do less time.
“Our jail is bursting at the seams and some women inmates have been released after serving only 10 per cent of their sentence.”
No wonder Paris is coming round to the idea of her law breaking. Its going to be even shorter than rehab.
They also reported how Paris’ protesters turned up in their numbers to save the socialite from jail. The ‘Save Paris’ campaign that took place in Greenwich Village in New York saw a huge number of ….. 3 people turn up to protest. Yes that many people care if Paris goes to jail.
tPC reported that Paris has also received death threats from her future inmates. The funniest part is where they are allegedly threatening to steal her shoes. Although they say if she complains they are gunna beat her to a pulp. But thats what jail is like right?
Paris should feel safe enough though. As she will be housed away from the bulk of the dangerous inmates. She knows this which is probably where she got the bravado to announce she is ‘ready to face the consequences’.
Paris released her statement of ‘Been ready to face the consequences’ in reaction to what the media had to say about her. Several high profile people had commented on Paris’ behaviour and that she take responsibility for all her actions and not rely on others so much. One such person was Sarah Ferguson.
Paris’ statement :
“After reading the media’s coverage of my court hearing, I feel the need to correct what I believe are misperceptions about me.
“I absolutely realise how serious driving under the influence is. I could not live with myself if anyone was injured or killed while I was driving while impaired. Clearly, no one should - no matter how slightly.
“I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation.
“No one is above the law. I surely am not. I do not expect to be treated better than anyone else who violated probation. However, my hope is that I will not be treated worse.”
Although she doesn’t expect to be treated any better. We all know she will get treated better. Even been separated from the bulk of the inmates is special treatment.
Will she even go to jail with all this overcrowding? Probably not.
