Paris Hilton going to jail!
We actually didn’t think it was going to happen. Celebrities like Paris usually get let off with just about anything. But this time Paris didn’t win and she’s been sentenced to 45 days in jail.
She was at court yesterday for violating her probation, which has certainly put her part parade on hold for a while.
Paris is to report for jail on the 5th of June, which is when her sentence will begin. Not only will her sentence be carried out in the jail the judge chooses, But the heiress cannot pay to be transferred jails, She won’t be allowed work releases or electronic tagging. The judge really wanted her to serve real time it seems.
Maybe this will make Paris and people like her rethink their idea of been untouchable.
Before the judge sentenced Paris, She apologized with:
“I’m very sorry and from now on I’m going to pay complete attention to everything. I’m sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all,”
The defence for Paris didn’t holdup well against the Judge. Paris’ rep and lawyer had both apparently failed to tell her that she was suspended. But Superior Court Judge Michael T Sauer didn’t believe them for a second. Quote:
“I can’t believe that either attorney did not tell her that the suspension had been upheld,”
“She wanted to disregard everything that was said and continue to drive no matter what.”
Paris’ Lawyer claims that Paris was singled out because of who she is. Maybe she was singled out for breaking the law? who knows Mr Weitzman.
If she doesn’t appear on the 5th of June to start her sentence. Then it will automatically be extended to 90 days.
Her Lawyer Howard Weitzman plans to appeal the decisio, and claims the sentence is bordering on ludicrous.
Earlier this year when it was announced that Paris may go to jail. The heiress claimed that going to jail would ruin her career. Well when she comes out we get to see if it has. If it doesn’t ruin it. Mayb eit will make her smarten up a bit.
