After reading this article about MySpace news. We quickly made up our minds that this new service from MySpace wont seriously threaten popular service digg.com.
Myspace is made up mostly of teenagers obsessed with bands and boys/girls. Which is where the majority of the posts will be collected from.
Digg.com has members of all ages and all aspects of life that use the service. It has a good standing on the web. And it covers so many topics.
The MySpace news service will as we said mostly submitted by teenagers talking about the hottest music cd. Or chatting about who is their favourite boy/girl at the school. There wont be anything groundbreaking. Just teen chat on teen topics. The more serious topics will of course be used on digg.com and the other social networking services.
As its run by Rupert Murdochs News Corp. It will of course be used to spread news headlines from some of Murdochs newspapers. Such as The Sun,New York post and The Times.
Our Verdict. It may do ok amongst teenagers and people looking for the normal headlines that can be found in every newspaper. Digg.com and other services will still rule for every other type of news. But we may be wrong.
