MySpace tries out Video censoring software

It seems that MySpace are experimenting with another group (Audible magic corp) to apply video censoring software to the site.  No doubt MySpace are trying to beat the lawsuits before they appear by applying this software.

Video sites such as YouTube among others remove the clips once there they have been reported. Where as MySpace’s approach is to check the digital fingerprints of the files against a database. Hopefully getting rid of any Universal Music groups files or clips.

The system will still allow for users to share their own videos and songs.

Chris DeWolfe The Chief Exec For MySpace Commented. “For MySpace, video filtering is  about protecting the artists and the work they create”.

Will other social networking sites follow suit?
